Super Bowl Recap

Super Bowl 48: The center for the Denver Broncos made an early mistake when he snapped the football and Manning was not ready for the snap, which caused a safety.   The nervous tension has set in on Super Bowl 48 with early mistakes. Seattle Seahawks took advantage of the turnover by the Broncos. An early challenge by Pete Carroll that Russell Wilson ran for the first down was overruled by the referees, which force Seahawks to kick a field goal on their first possession.

Seattle Seahawks was flagged for a late hit that pushed the Broncos up 15 yards from the 20-yard line.   Seattle defense looks energize on every down. Broncos went 3 and out on there first official outing in Super Bowl 48.

Seattle offense is moving like they have played in a Super Bowl before. Marshawn Lynch struggled to get to the line of scrimmage at times in the first half of the game.  Seattle passing game caused damage to the Broncos defense.

Seattle looks more like a veteran team when Wilson threw a striking fastball to Doug Baldwin to take the Seahawks to the eight-yard line.  On the ensuing play, a flag was thrown for offensive holding, which pushed them back to the eighteen yard line. The Broncos held Seattle out of the end zone after an incomplete pass by Russell Wilson to Jermaine Kearse, which Broncos linebacker broke up the play.

In Broncos, third possesion  Peyton Manning throws an interception that makes Broncos third turnover in the game.  Seahawks looked like a team possessed and on a mission to take off anyone’s head that gets in their way.

The Broncos played on their heels for most of the night.   Seattle scored at the 1-yard line after a pass interference play. Seattle then scores and goes up 15-0 in the second quarter.

Peyton Manning finally looked like he found his rhythm and out on a mission despite being down 15-0.   On a crucial 3rd down Manning throws a quick throw to Demaryius Thomas in order to be granted a first down.  Manning continues to stay patient in the pocket and throw striking blows to the Seattle defense.  Seattle defense causes Manning to throw another interception to Malcolm Smith that increased Seattle Seahawk score to 22-0.

On the kick off return, Seattle caused another turnover but Trindon Holiday knee was down. The runner was down by contact and the Broncos resumed play at the 30-yard line.  Broncos looked off balance but continue to fight until there was nothing else.

So far, the commercials have been boring this year.  I can’t really say I have been impressed with the commercials that are being produced.  It has been disappointing to see what is being produced over the past several years during the Super Bowl.  This year 4.5 million dollars was spent on commercials. The Broncos went into half time down 22-0.

The second half started out with a kickoff that was returned by Percy Harvin for a touch down to start the second half.  The score increased to 29-0 at the start of the second half.  The Broncos looked like they were lifeless coming out of the half.

More problems for the Broncos came after another turnover occurred when Demaryius Thomas was stripped from the football giving it back to the Seahawks.  Seahawks momentum continued after the half.  Seahawks continue to thrash the Denver Broncos by scoring another touchdown pass to Jermaine Kearse.   Toward the end of the 3rd quarter, the score was 36-0.

It’s the end of the 3rd quarter and the Seahawks are one quarter away from being world Champs. The Denver Broncos finally scored at the end of the 3rd quarter and converted on a two-point conversion to Wes Welker to make it 36-8.

The Broncos have not played to their potential tonight. The score has since then grown to 43- 8 in the fourth quarter.  I want to say congrats to the Seattle Seahawks for playing a dominated football game tonight.  Denver Broncos started off rocky and could not recover from the safety that occurred on the first play of the game.

This game was obviously dominated by defense, which wins championships.  My hats off to the Seattle Seahawks for a great game that Seattle played like the score was 0-0 all game long.

The Denver Broncos had one heck of a season with Manning breaking records all season.  I do feel that this team will be back in the playoffs next year, but it will be interesting to see who the Broncos will draft this year.

Hats off to Richard Sherman and the Seattle Seahawks for backing up the trash talking. After the game, Manning tapped Richard Sherman on the shoulder and made sure he was okay after being injured on a particular play.  Peyton Manning in my opinion is still one of the greatest quarterbacks that ever played the game.
