Super Bowl 48

After the NFC championship game, I was going to cover each game but change my mind given the fact that the whole Richard Sherman ordeal happen everyone was still talking about it.  I decided to write a week before the Super Bowl.

Richard Sherman has been the talk of sports for the past week heading into Super Bowl week for comments that were said after the NFC championship game.

Richard Sherman called out San Francisco wide out, Michael Crabtree.  Hours after the game I discover that America has the lack of respect for a person who expresses themselves without accurate criticism.

How can America judge a man off of one interview? People made a huge deal out of nothing.  Richard Sherman later apologized for the comments and now can we move forward?

Richard Sherman is far from a thug and I have to say this, that people take certain things that are said in the media out of context.   The N word was used throughout social media, which upset me the most.

Why was the N word even used?  I can go on with this, but if we are a nation that is created equal, why do I feel that we are not created equal?  Richard Sherman in my opinion when you actually sit down and talk one on one is a pretty intelligent person.  I’m only saying this off of what I have seen in previous interviews.

Media day is here for Super Bowl 48 is set for Sunday February 2, 2014.  All media outlets from the entire world gather to capture the most celebrated game that is a non-national holiday.

The biggest news coming out of media day is Marshawn Lynch. Media outlets wonder if Marshawn Lynch would speak with the media about the Super Bowl.  Marshawn Lynch is a number 1 draft pick out of California State University and he is not a huge talker in front of the media.

Marshawn Lynch is more about action, which speaks louder than words. Lynch has become news for some reason surrounding the Super Bowl.  Lynch should have the option of attending media day rather making it mandatory for players to attend.  Lynch at least did sign some autographs to some of the fans that were in attendance.

The media last year mostly talked about Ray Lewis taking an illegal substance that helped him recover from a bicep injury.  The media sometimes can be too much to handle at times for players and lose the main focus on why the two teams are in the Super Bowl.

Peyton Manning who was released by the Indianapolis Colts two seasons ago is currently in the Super Bowl.  Did Indianapolis Colts make the right decision to release a man who had neck surgery or did the owner make a mistake when drafting Andrew Luck the future quarterback to lead Indianapolis to the playoffs each year.

As Peyton took questions about his legacy at media day, he summed up his legacy nicely by saying he is still playing in his career. Manning also questioned the legacy and he feels that his legacy really doesn’t matter because he is currently an active player. When Manning retires from the game then people can now begin to talk about his legacy. Manning also recognizes that he is at the end of his career and has no plans on retiring anytime soon.

This is Manning’s Third Super Bowl appearance in which may be his last Super Bowl in his career.  Even though Manning has won one Super Bowl he will go down in NFL history as one of the greatest quarterbacks that ever played the game.

If Manning wins this Super Bowl on Sunday, he will match his younger brother Eli Manning for Super Bowl wins and both brothers will have won a Super Bowl in each other’s stadium.

On the other side of the ball is Russell Wilson who plays for the Seattle Seahawks who was drafted in the third round in the 2012 NFL draft.  Wilson is only in his second year in the national football league.

He plays with a huge chip on his shoulder after being drafted in the third round.  This Sunday the world will witness how Wilson will play in the Super Bowl.  Russell Wilson will one day be a great quarterback as the years passed.

On media day, Russell praised Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos for having an excellent football team.   This season Wilson threw over 3, 357 yards and led his team to their second Super Bowl appearance since 2006.

My prediction goes to the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning will win his second Super Bowl.  This will be a good match up between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks the number one offense versus the number one defense. Sunday one team will lose and one team will become a champion. Stay tune for my thoughts about the game and the Super Bowl commercials.
