The Playoffs

The Playoffs have begun and what a wild finish in the first round wild card weekend. The Indianapolis Colts stunned the Kanas City Chiefs in one of the greatest comebacks in NFL history.

A pair of interceptions cost the Colts to fall behind 28 points behind and the Chiefs continue to pound the Colts into the ground until Key players went out of the game with injuries.

After the half the Chiefs were only able to kick two field goals and the Colts took advantage of the Chiefs lack of scoring. The Colts went on to defeat the Kanas City Chiefs to proceed to the divisional round of the playoffs. Luck completed 29 of 45 for 443 yards, becoming the second highest in yardage in franchise history for a playoff game.

The Colts became the additional team in history to come back from a 28-point deficit. The original team that came back from a 32-point deficit was the Buffalo Bills against the Houston Oilers in 1993.

The Colts next big challenge will be the New England Patriots who are a resilient team at home to beat in the playoffs.

The New England Patriots defeated the Colts 43-22, which stopped the Colts magic. The New England Patriots face off against the Denver Broncos in order to continue their quest for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

The 49ers are on the way to the second round of the playoffs after beating the Green Bay Packers 23-20. What a game it was for Collin Kaepernick who threw for 227 yards and one touch down.

Next up for the 49ers is the Carolina Panthers who had a first round bye in the playoffs.
Defense wins championships and the 49ers displayed that on Sunday when the 49ers defeated the Panthers 23-10.

In the first meeting between the 49ers and panthers, it was a game to remember because it was decided by one point. In the game on Sunday January 12, 2014, the 49eres played stellar defense that made a difference in Sunday’s matchup.

Next up for the 49ers is the Seattle Seahawks who are still undefeated at home in the playoffs. Collin Kaepernick has his work cut out for him if he wants to make a second trip to the Super Bowl.

Over on the AFC side, the New England Patriots will face off against Payton Manning and the Denver Broncos.

This game is no stranger between Payton Manning and Tom Brady.  Over nearly a decade, these two players will go down in NFL history as the greatest quarterbacks that ever played the game.

In a press conference on January 15, 2014, Payton Manning stated. “Bill Belichick would go down as the greatest coach ever.”

On Sunday, this would be Tom Brady and Payton Manning 15th time ever meeting. This would be probably be the last time that Tom Brady and Payton Manning will face off against each other.

This Sunday will be a playoff game to remember. Stay tune because two teams will be crown NFC and AFC champion.  The two teams left standing will earn a trip to the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl coverage coming soon. After the season is over my focus will be on basketball and the up coming Oscars.
